Description

Built in 1660-61, the church of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary (Eisodion tis Theotoku) is located at the highest point of the castle. Its icon screen with relief figures of saints is noteworthy. On the eve of the Assumption of the Virgin (August 15), in accordance with custom, the epitaphios (flower-covered coffin of Christ) is adorned with its flowers, praise is chanted, and a procession starts to the church of Theotokaki.
