Description

The church of Saint (Agia) Theodosia is located just below the castle's main entrance gate and is considered the protector of the walls. For this reason, we will also find churches of Saint Theodosia near other castles on the island. The original church was built in Pyrgos in 1639 and renovated in 1857, but it collapsed in the earthquake of 1956. In its place, the present church was built in 1965. It celebrates its saint's day festival on May 29.
