Several footpaths begin at the inner square of Pyrgos (mesa platia or platia Stefanu Meleku): Path One (1) to the monastery of the Prophet Elias (2,400 meters, 70 minutes) and Ancient Thera (4,300 meters, two hours), Path Five (5) to Exo Gonia (1,000 meters, 30 minutes), Mesa (2,000 meters, 40 minutes), and Episkopi (2,800 meters, one hour), and Path Eight (8) to Vothonas (1,900 meters, 40 minutes) and Messaria (2,700 meters and 50 minutes).
