Description

At this point in the center of Fira, the cobblestone path with 587 steps begins that leads to the old harbor of the city (Mesa Gialos). The descent takes about 20 or 30 minutes on foot, and the spectacle on the way down is unique. We see red and black volcanic rock and awe-inspiring houses on the edge of the caldera, and the harbor gradually emerges in our field of vision as we descend.
