The Estate Argyros was established in 1903 by Georgios Argyros in a 5 acre vineyard in Episkopi Gonias, Santorini. Georgios Argyros followed the traditional method of winemaking in Santorini, with the main goal making use of the grapes produced by his vineyard, and its wines mainly intended for the local market. The current owner, Yiannis Argyros, who has run the winery since 1974, increased the area of cultivated vineyards to 65 acres, modernized the winery, and worked very hard to ensure the high quality of the grapes.
