Description

The Hestia Cultural Association of Pyrgos Kallistis was founded in 1949, the first organization of its kind created in Santorini. The club is active in a wide range of activities such as discussions, book presentations, lectures, theater, and art and painting exhibitions. It also supports the traditional dance group in Pyrgos as well as the annual organization of the traditional religious festivals of the village churches. Moreover, throughout its history it has presented financial awards to students from Pyrgos elementary school, middle school, high school, and public technical colleges who manage to enter higher education institutions. Hestia also maintains a rich library with rare books about the history of the village and the whole island.
