Description

The museum is housed in a wonderfully preserved traditional 19th-century Santorini captain's house donated by Mrs. Dina Manosessou-Birbili. In its exhibits you can admire figureheads, anchors, and various small items of everyday use in the sailboats of the era. Also, watercolors of old and new ships, tools and designs from the Santorini shipyards, uniforms and tools of local shipbuilders. Finally, rare documents, books, maps, charters, marriage contracts, seafarers' wills, and many photographs are presented.
