Path 1 connects Pyrgos with Ancient Thera. From this point at the parking lot for the archaeological site, it climbs ancient cobblestones toward the highest peak on the island (567 meters) at the monastery of the Prophet Elias (Profitis Ilias), and then descends a wide cobblestone path to Pyrgos, passing the Old School at the church of the Holy Apostles (Agii Apostoli).
